DSIAC is pleased to announce the availability of the Summer 2021 session of “Building More Survivable Defense Systems and More Effective Weapons: A Short Course on Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E),” to be held on August 17-19, 2021, at SURVICE Engineering Company in Belcamp, MD.

The course instructor is former Director of Live Fire Testing for the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Mr. James F. O’Bryon. This 3-day, intensive course consists of a multifaceted look at the legislation, directives, requirements, preparation, and execution of live fire testing, a statutory requirement for most major defense acquisition programs since 1987. Discussions will cover the history of LFT&E legislation, the Joint Live Fire Program, LFT&E candidacy, and preparation of Live Fire Test Plans and Detailed Test Plans in the context of the Test and Evaluation Master Plans.
