DSIAC was asked for information on the use of nitromethane for freezing-point depression in rocket propulsion applications, specifically in Army applications for gun-launched rockets. Of interest were impacts to performance and handling safety issues. DSIAC staff performed literature searches in open sources and the DTIC Research and Engineering (R&E) Gateway for relevant publications. In addition, a DSIAC energetics subject matter expert (SME) performed further research. A bibliography of documents was delivered to the inquirer.
