Senior Research Engineer, Combustion Branch, U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL)

Robert Fievisohn works in the Turbine Engine Division at AFRL, where he focuses on rotating detonation engines (RDEs). RDEs are a novel concept that use detonations to combust fuel and oxidize rapidly in an annular chamber, enabling ultracompact combustors for aerospace propulsion. Dr. Fievisohn directs an in-house program on applying RDE technology to afterburners and is a member of the RDE ramjet team at AFRL.
