KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, N.M., 1 Feb. 2016. Electro-optics researchers at Leidos Inc. in Reston, Va., will explore new methods of laser beam control for a variety of future laser weapons and laser communications systems.

Officials of the U.S. air Force Research Laboratory at Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M., announced a $21.1 million five-year contract in January for critical analysis and simulation efforts related to long-range laser propagation.
