This article discusses the five-year joint effort of the U.S. Navy and Air Force Research laboratories to advance high-power microwave technology. According to this article, the High-Powered Joint Electromagnetic Non-Kinetic Strike Weapon, or HiJENKS, uses microwave technology to take out an adversary’s electronic systems. Further testing is being carried out at Naval Air Station China Lake by the Air Force Research Laboratory and the Office of Naval Research.
