Catherine Eaton

Catherine Eaton is the director of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head (NSWC IHD), Battle Lab Division, whose mission is to conduct operational experiments, demonstrations, and assessments of existing and emerging technologies that feed capability gap assessment and buying decisions and inform requirements development and technology implementation. She began her career at NSWC IHD as an intern working on physics-based computer modeling simulations for a variety ordnance items, explosive tools, and shape charges. She also worked as an engineer, test director, and project/branch manager supporting joint service and underwater explosive ordnance disposal. Mrs. Eaton holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering and an M.E. in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland.
