What COTS/GOTS technology solutions are available for an atomic clock for aircraft platforms in GPS and other denied locations?

DSIAC was asked to identify and locate a candidate commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) or government off-the-shelf (GOTS) atomic clock system to be utilized by Special Operation Forces (SOF) for use in Global Positioning System (GPS) and other denied environments. The request was for technology in a relatively small, weight, and power package, while also considering cost for use by SOF aircrafts. DSIAC staff performed open-source and DTIC searches to obtain the requested information. A request for information was also sent to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency Microsystems Technology Office’s Program Officer, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and the U.S. Naval Observatory regarding the requested information. A list of candidate technologies was compiled, along with associated production companies. Finally, a summary of relevant organizations and references for further research on the topic was generated.
