Four companies will compete for task orders under a U.S. Navy contract to provide research and development support for nonlethal weapons systems across a range of capability functional and technology areas.

The Naval Surface Warfare Center’s Indian Head explosive ordnance disposal technology division in Maryland received 11 offers for the cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the Defense Department said Monday.

The service branch will obligate $10,000 each from fiscal 2017 R&D, test and evaluation funds at the time of award and work will occur in Virginia through February 2022.
