The U.S. Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Warfare Effectiveness Department (WED) VV&A Branch has developed and executed a cost-effective, risk-based VV&A process for modeling and simulation (M&S) used to support the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).

The following topics will be covered:

  • What makes a simulation credible?
  • How does VV&A relate to credibility?
  • What is the risk to a decision maker if M&S results are wrong but we use them anyway?
  • How does the NAVAIR VV&A Branch mitigate that risk with VV&A activities?
  • What are some examples?
