Staff Consultant

Dr. Leye Aina joined Ball Aerospace in 2019 as a Staff Consultant responsible for detector science, technology, and product advancement, with a focus on new detector concepts, designs, and production process enhancements for next-generation lidar cameras and space-based sensors for national defense, tactical, and space applications. Prior to joining Ball Aerospace, he was a Senior Principal Research Scientist at BAE Systems FAST Labs, where he was involved in the development of novel sensor integration and processing technologies. He was also President and Co-founder of Epitaxial Technologies, LLC, a developer and producer of ultrasensitive, linearmode avalanche photodiodes and sensors.
